I was looking for images that might work in black and white, and I found a shot from last winter that I had taken in color. The image got me curious to see what it might look like in black and white. The scene is from the Valley of Fires State Park in Nevada, not far from Las Vegas. See my post for Valley of Fires State Park.
Anyway, I was messing around with the black and white conversions in Photoshop Elements, and I decided to try the infrared. Infrared has some interesting qualities as it makes a blue sky almost black, and it really lightens up red tones which normally convert fairly dark. So the tonality of this image is almost flipped from my original shot.
So, I think I like this image in infrared, but what do you think?
Drop me a note and let me know, and as always thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog.
