Serene

Port Townsend Harbor 1wp

I saw the Daily Post challenge today, and I read Ben Huberman’s post about his trip up the British Columbia coast.  It got me thinking about serenity.  So here is my photograph.  This is the Port Townsend, Washington marina, and here is why this makes me feel serene.

Port Townsend is a very peaceful, laid back town.  The pace is slow and relaxed.  Take a deep breath of the wonderfully clean sea air and feel cleansed and invigorated.  The mild temperatures just relax the body.  Seeing this photograph brings back everything that I felt when I clicked the shutter.  I could hear the sea birds; I could smell the salty air and its purity; the calming blue of the sky and the gentle motion of the water just pulled away all the stress in my soul. The colors just relaxed my eyes.

So for me “Serene” is the Port Townsend marina.
