The Lost Road

We had a rare (lately) sunny day on the weekend, and I really needed to burn some old fuel that has been in my Miata for the last two months before it went bad. (Well, that’s my excuse for a nice long cruise the in the wonderful Miata MX-5.)

As I was heading west up toward Eureka, Utah on US 6, I saw this sweet view off to my left. There is an old railroad line that now heads to nowhere, but the view was great today (Sunday, 4 February).

Looking a bit southwest near off US 6 near Eureka, Utah

Back in the later 1800s, and even up into the first half of the 20th Century, this area was a huge mining site. Even today, there are still numerous large, corporate mining operations in the area that mine for silver and gold. I guess these old tracks lead up to some long abandoned mine. But, I loved the view, and I thought this should be titled “The Lost Road”.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have some cool stuff coming, but I thought I would put this up now. Have fun out there, everyone!

  1. Yeah…I tell my wife I need to burn off the old gasoline before it turns to paint thinner in my Miata’s tank.
    .
Then a add a bottle of STP octane booster and shoot flames out the tailpipe!

Looking forward to more pics of your red devil.
